News for thought…

Eminem wants to play The Riddler and T.I. saves an Atlanta man’s life.

These are articles I read about today after making my rounds through a number of entertainment sites that really made me stop and think for a moment. I thought it would be appropriate to share my thoughts with you.

The National Enquirer reported Eminem, who will be 28 this month, saying he wants to play The Riddler in the new Batman movie. Other sites have sailed away with the Enquirer’s reports. Whether Eminem did say this or not, it kind of made me laugh to think about it. I am an Eminem fan, but I do not think I could Take him seriously if for some reason he got this part.

According to MSN’s New Zealand Web site, Eminem would be up against Johnny Depp,47, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt,29, for the part. I feel like no matter what character they bring to any Batman movie, no one will ever outplay how Heath Ledger played The Joker. Even though  they are completely different characters, they will be compared to Ledger’s performance. I feel out of these three rumored to be nominees, Depp would do the best at portraying the character.

E! News reported earlier today that a man was threatening to jump off of the 22-story building in Atlanta. Rapper T.I., 30, heard about the man on the radio and drove to the building to try to help. The article said the rapper sent a video message to a cop on the roof telling the man “…It will be ok.” The man came to his senses and went to the local hospital.

It is sad to hear stories like this, to know that people think they have nothing left to live for. To have someone go out of their way to try to save this person he doesn’t know, makes me feel a little better about this world. Although there are speculations, T.I. did this to help reduce his “maybe” upcoming sentence, I think otherwise. From the bottom of my heart, I believe the rapper did this as a good deed; using his “celebrity” in a good way.
